DYDD & The Core Values
Discover Your Core Values — See How God Designed You
What is the Core Values Assessment?
The Core Values Assessment measures the innate ways you are motivated and the strengths you bring to the world. It identifies four primary values:
Builder – Driven by results, action, and responsibility.
Merchant – Motivated by relationships, love, and truth.
Innovator – Fueled by problem-solving, creativity, and compassion.
Banker – Focused on knowledge, stability, and justice.
Your results reveal your unique blend of these values, an unchanging part of how God created you. They don’t just tell you what you can do, but how you naturally approach life, relationships, and challenges.
The Core Values within DYDD
-
How Accurate Is IT?
The Core Values Assessment is built on decades of research and real-world application. It measures hard-wired tendencies that remain stable over a lifetime having a 97.7% repeat reliability score. In fact, the odds of two people having the same make-up are over 10 octillion to 1—making your results truly unique.
DYDD participants often say their Core Values results feel “spot on,” giving them words to describe patterns and strengths they’ve noticed all their lives. This same tool is used globally in business, ministry, and personal growth settings because of its precision and lasting relevance.
-
Why We Use It in DYDD?
In the DYDD process, the Core Values Assessment is one of the first steps you’ll take. Why? Because it gives you a clear lens to see the unique way God has designed you to operate.
It helps you understand how you naturally function.
It reveals both your strengths and areas where you may need to partner with others.
It provides a consistent reference point as we explore your identity, expertise, story, desire, and spiritual gifts.
When you know your Core Values, you gain language for how you live out your God-given identity—making the rest of your DYDD journey even more impactful.
-
How It Supports Identity Development
Identity in Christ is the foundation of everything we do. The Core Values Assessment doesn’t replace your spiritual identity—it reveals the unique way God designed you to live that identity out.
Knowing your Core Values helps you:
Serve with confidence in your God-given strengths.
Recognize where you’ll rely more on Him or collaborate with others.
Avoid comparison by understanding why you operate differently than others in the Body of Christ.
-
How It Connects to the Rest of the DYDD Journey
Your Core Values influence every other part of your design:
Identity — Clarifies how you express who you are in Christ.
Expertise — Shapes how you learn, develop, and apply skills.
Story — Influences how you interpret and respond to life experiences.
Desire — Affects what stirs your passion and draws your attention.
Spiritual Gifts — Informs how you naturally express your gifts in service to others.
When all of these come together, you gain a holistic picture of how God has uniquely called and equipped you.

“The Core Value Index Assessment (CVI) was so accurate, it really put in perspective how I apply myself both spiritually and professionally. It really explained and offered insight into why I enjoy certain activities and struggle through others. It became encouraging to see the results, it has actually provided guidance and changes to my application of both my commitment to God and my professional career. The course explanation and discussions provided a deeper understanding of my CVI ratings."
