Known and Named: Living from Your True Identity
“But now, this is what the Lord says—he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: Do not fear, for I have redeemed you. I have summoned you by name. You are mine.”
Isaiah 43:1 (NIV)
Before you ever accomplished a thing, before you earned a title or carried a burden, you were named. Not by your circumstances, not by your past, not by your mistakes. You were named by God.
Your identity is not something you have to chase down or manufacture. It is something you receive. In a world that asks you to constantly reinvent yourself, God invites you to come home to the truth of who you are. You are known. You are chosen. You are His.
Let Go of the Lies That Don’t Belong to You
Too many of us are living under names that never came from God. The overachiever. The failure. The people pleaser. The one who doesn’t quite measure up. But none of those names define you.
When you start with your identity in Christ, everything else begins to settle. Your confidence grows. Your decisions gain clarity. Your relationships find new rhythm. You no longer have to hustle to be accepted because you already belong.
You Are Not What You Do. You Are Who God Says You Are.
In Discover Your Divine Design, identity is the foundation. Without it, everything else wobbles. But when you know who you are, a child of God, made with purpose, loved without condition, your story, your desires, your gifts, and even your niche begin to come into focus.
This part of the journey invites you to root yourself in the one truth that never changes. Your worth does not come from your performance. It comes from the One who formed you and calls you by name.
Reflect:
Where in your life are you still trying to prove your worth? What old labels or expectations have you carried that God never gave you? Read Isaiah 43 again. What if you believed, fully and deeply, that you are already named and already loved?
